What’s Going On in Mauritania

In my latest for Affari Internazionali, the online magazine of my Italian think tank, Istituto Affari Internazionali, I analyse some of the developments happening in Mauritania, as the showdown between Ghazouani and Abdel Aziz has entered a new phase and the government’s resignation and reshuffle have demonstrated Ghazouani’s ambition of promoting some sort of discontinuity. However, change has been mostly cosmetic, so far, and I do not think the new government represents an actual break with the past.
